For many, many years I fancied myself as a writer. I just liked the idea. But now, I am an actual writer who writes things. Mostly for the stage things but occasionally I like to write a short story thing, or maybe a poem thing.
While training at East 15 Acting School I had writing classes with the amazing Charlotte Josephine, who wrote and performed in Bitch Boxer and Blush.
In 2018 I wrote The Dip, my debut play. It's a psychedelic gig-comedy that playfully explores what it means to questions your sexuality. It was selected as part of my course's flagship festival Debut 2018 - I directed it and think I did a pretty good job. Don't take my word for it though, here's what some others have said:
"Reminds us that it is possible for LGBT people to live without inherent sadness"
Wales Arts Review
"This is a play about individual freedom, the right to be unconventional in a world where the conventional remains the norm."
"Chaotic stoner-comedy with live music and plenty of surreal laughs"
"Eifion's writing is extremely clever and he knows how to keep an audience entertained"
"This high-energy lunacy won me over."
"A wonderful mesh of craziness that is an unstoppable laughter machine."
"It’s wonderful, batshit chaos."
"A scene with some sort of colossal halibut seemed to highlight the continuing prevalence of homophobia in modern society."
"The pace is intense, the jokes and physical theatre come thick and fast."
"A night I'm never going to get back"
